The Library Residence was a total remodel plus an addition to a small structure which was originally the public library in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design and style. When the library moved, this building was re-purposed as an office for the church across the street. When the designer’s clientele approached them, it was with the notion to transform the creating into their property.
The designer’s have been struck by how lovely the volume of the old library was, and decided to keep the big open space to residence a wonderful room, with kitchen, dining and living locations. They enclosed the open front porch to generate an entry and powder area, and added on to the side of the creating to create two modest bedrooms and a new bathroom. They did a lot of excavation work in the basement exactly where we added a sauna, laundry area, workout area, and a recording studio for the customers who are each voice actors.
